VACATION!

Well, our vacation to Douthat was definitely an experience! Fun at times, dull at times, and of course not without a few spats, haha, but all-in-all it was a good time. The kids thoroughly enjoyed spending so much time with their cousins!

Our cabin was at the top of the mountain and the one lane road leading up to it was absolutely RIDICULOUS! The cabin was nice, with a very spacious great room where the kids had plenty of room to play, a nice patio in the back, a decent size kitchen and 6 bedrooms. Grandma and Pappy had the pleasure of sharing the big bedroom with Amaris, Vaeh and Parker! Bryce decided to wake every morning between 5 and 5:30, so it wasn't a very restful vacation! We spent the most time at the lake, which was perfect because the kids could pretty much do as they pleased while we sat back and watched. We did some hiking on the trail right by the cabin, which the kids thoroughly enjoyed. We tried fishing, but there wasn't much to catch in the park. We also ventured to the Safari Park out near Lexington for a day. This was THE BEST! There was a petting zoo with goats, pigs, kangaroo, as well as tigers, turtles, lemurs, spider monkeys, marmosets, and several other animals to marvel over! Best of all was the tractor/wagon ride through the woods where we got to feed a ridiculous amount of HUGE animals with our buckets of feed. The kids really loved it and were surprisingly not afraid (well not all of the kids anyway!) of the camels, buffalo, moose, elk, llamas, ostriches, etc. Oh, and best of all, we all got sick at some point...either during the vacation or once we got home!

SPAGHETTI!!!

I try not to make spaghetti too often, because I do not enjoy clean up after a spaghetti dinner, but they sure do make the most of it when we do have it. The boys love spaghetti, and I think it shows! Bryce definitely wins for messiest spaghetti eater :)

Day at the Zoo!

It was a hot one today, but fun nonetheless. Some friends joined us at the zoo, and the kids had so much fun. The boys favorite part of the zoo was the newest addition--the kangaroos! And you can't forget the fountains.

First Family Vacation

We spent a wonderful week in Nags Head with Grandma and Pawpaw Toler and Aunt Kathy and Uncle Bruce. Unfortunately, daddy could only come for a few days, but we still had a blast. The boys made friends on the beach, Bryce loved the kayak and knocking down sand castles, and they got to see lots of cool animals at the aquarium...oh yeah, how could I forget that we made a stop at the Kill Devil Hills Fire Station for Parker to check out all the trucks!!
