We miss you, Grammy....

Today we got a call that Guy's grandmother wasn't breathing and the paramedics were at her house. About 20 minutes later we got "the call." This was very unexpected, as she was not suffering, and she passed in her sleep. At least we can be thankful that she went peacefully. It's hard to believe she is not here with us anymore, but I think the last month and a half of her life was the best time she had had in a long time. We love you Grammy, and we miss you tremendously already.....

Valentine's Day

Parker was very much into Valentine's Day this year, but doesn't understand that money is a gift, haha, so when grandma and pappy and grandma and pawpaw gave them both a few dollars for their piggy banks, Parker asked if they had something else for him! Gotta love kids! Needless to say, both kids were extremely excited to come down the stairs and see a balloon for each of them with a bag of candy tied on the end :)

Cousins

Parker loves all of his cousins, but since he does have a "thing" for babies, he is very much into his newest cousin, baby Archer. He asked to hold her more than once, so I had to take the opportunity and get a picrture of him in his glory holding his beautiful cousin Archer :)

Parker's Valentine's Day party

I was one of the three mom's in charge of putting together the Valentine's Day party for Parker's class, and was very much looking forward to it. Everyone always makes cupcakes, but Parker always just eats the icing, so I decided to make some special rice krispy treats. I made them pink, in the shape of hearts, covered them in white chocolate and covered them in red sugar sprinkles. It was a lot of work, but they were so yummy :) Parker refused to sing this time...they sang "skid a marink a dink a dink" and he said he didn't like the song, so he stood like a statue with an evil look on his face. He had a rough start, not wanting to wash hands or eat, and just wanted to go home, but this happens pretty much every time I come to class! All in all, it turned out well and the kids had a good time :)

Hungry Hungry Hippos

Parker loves to play this game, and Bryce is always trying to get in the mix, but I have found him chewing on the balls more than once, so we usually don't bring out the game when Bryce is up. This time, daddy let Bryce join in, and they had quite the fun time :)

Birthday Celebration

Last weekend we ventured out in the snow storm to have dinner at LaTolteca for mom and Jennifer's birthday. As you can tell, mom had a great time :) They sang happy birthday to them and gave them both fried ice cream sundaes. Good times!

Temper Tantrums

Over the last few weeks, as sweet as Bryce is, he has started to throw some temper tantrums. The funny thing about his tantrums is that they are pretty quiet. He will just refuse to do whatever it is you are asking, plop down on the floor, roll over onto his belly, hide his face and just lay there. It is pretty comical....quite different than Parker's screaming and crying fits! Bryce has also gotten more vocal with "no!" and when you take something from him, he will yell "hey!" This was all so expected with Parker, as he always has been a little whipper snapper, and from what I hear, he gets that from his Pappy :) Bryce on the other hand is so quiet you sometimes forget he is even here.....so the no's, hey's and silent tantrums are pretty funny to me!

Some serious SNOW!

Friday evening we kept telling Parker there was going to be snow on the ground when he woke up, and he was so excited! Before he went to bed, this was his prayer to God, "hey God, can we get some snow down here?!?" It was adorable! He woke up around 6am on Saturday morning, and we could hear him in his room--jumped out of bed and was looking out the window at the snow. We called him into our room, and he was running all over the place, so excited about the snow all over the ground. Within 10 minutes of being awake, and lots of staring out the window, we bundled the boys up and headed outside to let them check out the snow :) Unfortunately, we get so little snow around here that we are not prepared with snow bibs or snow boots, so the wore their rain boots outside, which don't work well for long! Between Saturday and Sunday, Parker make it outide to play probably about 6 times between daddy and Amaris. Bryce was good with our first early morning romp in the snow...he never asked to go back out again. Funny thing is, Parker is ready for the snow to go away already!

Grammy's surprise 76th birthday and Grandpa and Grandma Respass coming to town!

Guy's grandmother turned 76 on January 23rd. In preparation, the family all got together and cleaned their house up nice and good, got some carpets cleaned, others replaced, and got rid of a whole bunch of stuff they no longer need. Guy's dad, his wife and their kids came in town to surprise Grammy. Grammy and Grandaddy both were extremely surprised, they had no clue! It was awesome :)

The boys were happy to get to spend time with their Grandpa and Grandma from Georgia and their Uncle Joseph and Aunt Trinity. They haven't seen them in over a year, but Bryce took to Grandpa really well, and actually wanted to stay with him at Grammy's when it was time to leave!! Hopefully we will see them again sooner rather than later :)

Dinner with the twins!

Jennifer brought Cameron and Kyla over to play with Parker and Bryce, which made for one loud house, and one big mess, but they had fun! As Jennifer was trying to round them up to go home, they heard me tell the boys were we having mini hotdogs for dinner and they decided they wanted to stay. The four of them sat at the tiny picnic and had dinner :)
