Lightning McQueen!

Grandma Sajko headed to Nags Head over the weekend with some girl friends and came across some Lightning McQueen pajamas while they were out shopping. The boys were super excited when she brought them over and thanks to the nasty weather, they have worn them for two days straight, haha. Parker has also been wearing some penguin slippers that cousin Bayden grew out of, but they are a little small, and his big toe poked a hole through the bottom. "Santa" had picked up some McQueen slippers for him for Christmas, but since he has been wearing his slippers everyday, we didn't think they would make it until Christmas and we gave them to him last night. He loves them!!! He is Lightning McQueen from head to toe!

A Day at the Zoo

Amaris was out of school on Tuesday for a teacher work day, so she spent the day with us :) I gave them a few options of where we could go, and they decided the zoo is where they wanted to be! We started over in the petting zoo area, which they all LOVED! Even Bryce fed the ugly, long curly haired sheep goat thing with the jacked up teeth, haha. Bryce especially loved the chickens as he kept "talking" to them. Next we rode the train which they always love, even though you really don't see much other than all the construction they are doing on the new Asia exhiubit for the tigers. Last but not least, we headed over to see the kangaroos, lions, elephants, giraffes with the new baby born just a few months ago, and the funny monkey thing with the rainbow butt:) We had a good time!

Porstmouth Fire Dept comes to Preschool!

Today the Porstmouth Fire Department came out to West Side Christian Church for the kids to learn about fire safety. They visited the school yesterday as well, so fortunately, it was a small group of kids today. Bryce and I arrived at school at 10, when the firefighters were supposed to be there. There ended up being abig mix up, so they were late. In the meantime, the kids were allowed to play on the playground. Parker showed Bryce around, and helped him on the playgroung and they had a blast. The kids were so excited when the firetruck showed up! They all sat quietly and watched the firefighters while they tried on their special fire proof gear. They were all given a chance to ring the bell on the front of the truck, and to sit in the truck as well. Bryce loves firetrucks too, but for some reason cries when you get him close to it, so we watched from a few feet away :) Check out the class picture and see if you can tell who is missing, haha!

Time Out, Bryce!

We have warned Parker for months that before long Bryce would start sticking up for himself and that he should stop picking on him. Well, the time has come. Bryce had gotten down right mean these days, haha, although sometimes I'm not sure he means to be. He is a headbutter and a biter....two things Parker was not. It is not unusual for me to hear a blood curdling scream from the den, followed by Parker screaming, "mommy! Brycey headbutted me!" Usually Bryce's agression is in response to Parker taking something from him, or other times he just annoys Parker to the point where he hits/kicks Bryce, and then it's war! We have started time out, but I'm not sure it means much to him.

Trick-or-Treat

This year we decided to dress Parker as a firefighter and Bryce as a dalmation. I waited too long on the costume and there were no more at Old Nacy when I went to get it. I was upset, but figured we would just get them whatever at Wal-Mart, haha. Thanks to my wonderful mother-in-law, we were able to do the theme we wanted, because she got us a dalmation costume off ebay! The boys were acutally fighting over it, but in the end, Parker agreed to be the firefighter.....thansk to Uncle Ronnie who brought home an awesome REAL fire hat from the station for Parker to wear :)

We started at Grandma and Pappy's getting the kids ready there, taking pics on the front porch, and then making our way aroung Tyre Neck Point.....I literally think we were the only ones who trick-or-treated int he neighborhood!! Everyone but Amaris was about done after the first round. We headed over to PeePaw's in Silverwood and only made it to a few houses. Bryce just wanted to be carried, and Parker wanted to run around in just his jeans and boots....we started calling him Mr. July!

All-in-all, it was a good time. Next year for hoping for a little more trick-or-treating!

Parker's Preschool party

Parker's preschool class had a Fall Harvest Party and it was so much fun! THey have parties throughout the year, and parents have to sign up to throw the party. The brought their costumes to school, dressed up and had a "parade" around the building, which I missed! THey told me 10:30 and when I got there they were on their way back in the building already...I was angry, but what can you do? When we returned to the classroom, the kids lined up and sang some songs for us. They were so adorable! Then time to eat some snack, play and do some crafts. Bryce enjoyed himself too! He loves Parker's class....guess this means Bryce will be doing the 2 1/2 year old preschool class next year!

I'm a slacker....

But there are more blogs entries coming soon....
