The Bathroom

Besides needing to put down the quarter round molding, the bathroom is complete! It looks sooooo much better than it did!

The Park

Between the freezing cold weather and the boys taking turns being sick, we really haven't done too much, especially anything outside! It's supposed to be beautiful for the next few days, so we decided to head to the park after school today. The boys insisted on bringing their tricycles, which they enjoy so much, and Bryce has finally gotten the hang of how to pedal. Our friends Kelly, Mason and Khloe met us there. The kids played while we soaked up as much sun as we could! It felt sooo good to be outside. I cannot wait for the weather to stay warm!!!

Helping daddy paint

We were never really happy with the colors we chose for the upstairs bathroom, so for the past 5 years we have talked about chooseing new colors, but just never got around to it. With the thought of moving, we decided to get rid of the ugly green and play it safe with a cream color. Daddy promised they boys they could help, and they were thrilled! I will post pics when we finish the floor!

Our new family room :)

We have had the same furniture since we moved in almost 6 years ago. Originally, the room was grey with grey carpet and we had red curtains and couches. We did love it, but I've been over it for a long time. I had a hard time convincing Guy that grey is neutral and we can do tan, green, plum or just about any other color in the room. He was stuck on either black or red. We hit several stores, but kept going back to the same set of couches we first picked out. He was skeptical about the tan, but he decided to give it a try. I wanted to find a way to work the tan and gray in together, and I was lucky enough to find the perfect curtains with both colors! We absolutely LOVE our new family room!!

Bye-bye paci!

Getting rid of Bryce's pacifier has been a hot topic as he approaches 3. He loves his paci something fierce and shows no signs of wanting to give it up. I have dreaded this day, as this makes him one step closer to no longer being my "baby." I also thought he would do horrible without it. So here we are, a little less than two months shy of him turning 3. He took a late, short nap and was cranky all evening. Daddy couldn't find his paci, so I told him during story time that he was going to have to go to bed without it. I wasn't serious, but wanted to see what he would say, and he didn't really react. When he got in bed, he said, "daddy can't find my paci." It is not unusual for him to ask for a toy and we will tell him if we find it we will bring it to him, leave him in his bed and usually don't return. So, we told him we would look for the paci and bring it to him if we found it. I found his paci when I went downstairs, but figured we should give it a shot. This was not planned and I am sooo not ready for it, but after about 30 minutes of playing quietly in his bed he fell asleep without his paci. Hopefully it really is this easy, but I have a feeling the battle has just begun!

Fireplace

When we moved in our house almost 6 years ago, the fireplace was closed off with plywood. There were quite a few bids on the house, so in order to "win" we opted not to make too many waves. We never asked about the fireplace or if there was anything wrong with it. We talked a number of times about opening it up, but never did anything about it. Now with thoughts of putting the house up for sale, we thought it would be worth it to open it up and enjoy if for a few months, and have it ready for the next owner (hopefully). Luckily, there were no major issues, just needed a damper and cap and the top sealed off because it was leaking some water. Today we built and enjoyed our first fire in our home. Kinda cool.....

Bad dog...

in time out. Bryce doesn't react so nicely when he doesn't get his way.... I usually just have him sit there, but he was trying to be funny so I made him stand up and face the wall.
