Never a dull moment with kids...

We are in the midst of a nasty storm here and Parker informs me of the Tornado Warning on the TV. So I call Aunt Kristy, who is stuck in Norfolk surrounded by flooded streets, trying to get to work, but is pretty much stuck in a parking lot just waiting. As we are talking and watching the rain out the window, Parker taps me on the shoulder and says, "Mommy, can I tell you something? The rain is a pain in the ass." The funny part is, he stated it very matter-of-factly, as if he really did not know it was a bad word. I couldn't help but laugh! He then tells me that he learned it from daddy :) A discussion about not using this word-EVER- ensued!

Parker and LETTERS!

Parker never really tells me much about school, even though I ask him everyday what they do at school. This morning when Bryce and I dropped him off, their chalkboards just happened to be sitting on the table for them to draw before school if they wanted. He pointed to them and got all excited and said, "Look, Mommy! I want to draw a 'P'!" And he completely shocked me when he took the chalk and started to write! His first attempt was backwards, but then he was writing a perfect "P", and even showed me he could do an "L" and an "O"! I am so proud of my Parker!

Toy Story 3 on Ice

We have been planning this for weeks and Parker was especially excited. Grandma Toler joined us and we sat with our friends Paul, Jennifer, Kylie and Seth. I was sooo not in the mood for it, but I was pleasantly surprised that it was rather entertaining! It lasted a little longer than we thought, so by the end we were a little bored and the kids were tired, but we all really did enjoy it :) We have not yet seen Toy Story 3 the movie, so as soon as it comes out in the Cinema Cafe here we are definitely taking the kids to see it!

Edible Arrangements

This deliciousness was just delivered to my door courtesy of Grandpa and Grandma in Georgia :) Thank you for the YUMMY treats :)

Soccer Pictures

Parker actually cooperated for pictures without any coercion...but then went on to play a terrible game where he cried, stomped his feet, and refused to play at one point! Gotta love it.

Little Parker

As I was just getting Parker dressed and combing his hair, I said "you have to stop growing." To which he replied "why?" I told him I wanted him to stay my little Parker forever, and he said, "But I need to grow big so I can be a firefighter." I said, "No, no, no..I want you to be my little Parker forever. I don't want you to get big." And he says, "You can still call me your little Parker even when I'm a firefighter." He really can be soooo sweet...sometimes :)

Parker's First U5 Eagles Soccer Game

We were a little concerned about this soccer season because Parker was upset that he wasn't on his same team from last year with all his same teammates and blue jerseys! Last Tuesday was his first practice and he refused to practice after about 10 minutes......so I was dreading the game this morning. He did tell us he would play his games, he just didn't want to practice. But boy did he do good! They have 5 boys on their team and they really tried their hardest today. They don't keep score, but it was definitely a close game. Parker scored several goals, and "assisted" in a few others. It was a good game and he was very proud of himself. We are looking forward to a good season!

First Day of Pre K

Today was Parker's first day of school, and I sure was excited to send him off! He was pretty indifferent before we left the house, but really loved his classroom and was so excited to see all of his friends from last year :) Parker's girlfriend/best friend from class last year, Kylie, greeted him in the parking lot :) Bryce and I spent our morning with Jenifer (Kylie's mom) and Seth (Kylie's little brother) at the park until it got too steamy, and then we headed to our house to play. After we picked Parker and Kylie up from school we headed to Chick-Fil-A for yummy lunch and playtime. Parker also ran into his buddy Luke, so they had a great time!

Halloween Underwear

Grandma Toler LOVES to shop for the boys, so while in Nags Head she hit up the Gymboree outlet :) One of the many treasures she brought home for them was some glow-in-the-dark Halloween underwear.....

Summer is coming to a end...

We spent the entire Labor Day weekend at Grandma and Pappy's pool. The water is already cooling down, so it won't be long before our summer is officially over! The boys enjoyed every bit of the weekend, and we hope to get at least one more pool side weekend before we call it quits!

Parker finally....

let us cut his hair!!! Well Grandma anyway. He said we could shave it, but Grandma wanted to test her skills, and it ended up looking okay!

Fire fighter Bryce

His brother has taught him well...

Building

I can't quite remember which day this was because the last two weeks of daddy being home recovering from his shoulder surgery is all a blur, haha, but Parker wouldn't give up when bugging daddy to let him build something with some scraps of wood in the garage...........

Bryce's favorite food...

bran cereal with raisins!
